Former Wales captain Gareth Thomas feels the current crop of Welsh stars have what it takes to finally beat Australia away from home.
The Six Nations champions are set to embark on a daunting trip Down Under to face the Wallabies in three Tests.
The men in red will play the two-time world champions in Brisbane on Saturday, June 9, before a clash with ACT's state side, the Brumbies, on Tuesday, June 12.
The players then return to international duty for the second Test on June 16 in Melbourne before the concluding Test takes place in Sydney on June 23.
Wales have never beaten Australia in a series Down Under but head into the tour having claimed the Grand Slam and been one of the teams to come out of last year's World Cup with credit.
They finished fourth at the World Cup and Thomas, who retired from rugby union in 2007, believes the players deserve to be confident ahead of the trip to face one of the powerhouses of world rugby.
"Having the feeling of invincibility is deserved because they've beaten everyone in their path by winning the Grand Slam," he said. "I don't think you can knock the boys for being like that.
"But when you talk to them or when you're around them they're actually an honest, decent bunch of people. So I don't think in any way they'll be arrogant about it."
Thomas knows that it will not be easy to get a win on the board against the green and gold stars but he feels that there is a belief in the present side that they can finally do what so many touring sides have failed to achieve.
"Everyone's waiting with bated breath to see if we can overcome the one hurdle that has seemed to have always been our downfall," he added to Wales Online. "We've won Grand Slams or done well in the past, but then never been able to back it up by going to the southern hemisphere and being successful.
"And I think people believe in this team, believe in Sam Warburton as the captain and so many other players there and I'd love to see them carrying on this mentality."
