Don't have five thousand dollars for a pair of Nike Mags? This instructables shows you how to make one yourself.
If you don't quite have these parts laying around, or the time or energy to put everything together, the creators actually made a Kickstarter page for bringing the shoes to market. Unfortunately, although the project was fully funded in October 2010, no product has materialized after a year. They're aiming for $150-$200 as the final price, but hey, why wait (or pay) when you can do it now with a pair of old sneakers you've saved since the '80s?
Update: John of CounterKicks tells me that the creator plans to bring the shoes to market in mid-2012, which would be about two years after the people pledged money on Kickstarter. That's a long two years to have someone hold on to your money without a product.
